hi all

Thinking of running a secondary fuse box for all the accessory mess i have in the engine bay and all the ring terminals i have running of my battery at the moment :toilet: Just wondering if anyone else runs a secondary fuse box, and if so which one ?

from what i can see there is no real draw back unless you get a crappy box and it fills with water while crossing.

been browsing around and found this fuse box to be pretty popular

i also like the switch board this guy has put in at post #12, i might put one in underneath the head unit when i change it out, my understanding is the OEM one is close to a doubble din so if i go with a single might be able to fab something up for some switches :p

also more links if anyone can be bothered

some people just went to the wreckers and ripped another jeep one out or similar from another car, one guy even mounted it in is dash (post #17) cant say i would be that keen

Yeah mate I run one, I simply went to Jaycar and brought all the good's. Depends on how many accessories you run or will be running? I went with a 6 blade fuse box mounted just under the brake booster but closer to the rh Gaurd. I ran3

linked to ignition via relay ? also how to you find you ign wires..i know there would be a few you could use as i need one for a boost gauge...had a poke around near the pedals and wasn't to keen on splicing wires to start testing

From memory I went from the back of lighter to a relay as it was easy to get to and without as you say cutting and splicing.

Boss: Don't you have anything to do?
Employee: Yes sir! But unfortunately I had to come to work!

have used the fuse block off here http://www.traxide.com.au/relays_7.html in a couple of projects with no issues at all.

Why not just use a factory unit, you get fuses and relay sockets for accs?????

ill go to the wreckers this weekend and see if they have one in the cherokee there. i imaging they would be pre wired ? could be better when dealing with water as i think the factory fuse box is waterproof...would save a bit of cash too :)

They aren't waterproof but gives the advantage of the same fuses and relays as factory, a little more thought will need to go into it but I think the end result would be better...
