Hey. Did a search but couldn't find a lot
I'm looking fir some info on things like setting timing. It's a dissy motor and I'm used to coil pack motors where we fiddle with only a crank angle sensor. How do we set the timing on the TJ? I have a timing light ready to go but can't see sensors or adjusting points

You cant adjust the timing. It is controlled by the ECU.

Ok. Any other tuning/tune up options?

What yr model did you get Gianni? My 99 tj just needs to have the air filter cleaned regularly and I have changed the spark plugs. Regular oil changes is another thing I keep up. They are really basic engines which are quiet easy to work on. No matter what you do tho fuel economy is not great.

Got a 97 :) I've done a decent service. Plugs and leads are fairly new so didn't bother with them. Just going over everything gradually so was curious about tune ups. :)

Yeah cool. The other thing I just thought there is serviceable joints underneath that you can grease if you have the equipment. Transfer case fluid was one thing on mine when I bought it that was in need of replacement. Easy to do just have to take the middle bash plate off first. :)

Fluids, filters and grease points as per any 4x4, to keep it maintained and in good condition.

As for the 4.0L, just keep putting fuel in it thats the only mod it needs.
