I'm looking into putting a 1 or 2" body lift in the CJ7 and was looking for any advice or tips...

Go 1" and do a 1" MM at the same time. The reason I suggest 1" is it's easier to perform and requires less covering up (of the gaps)...

Soak your bolts in WD40 for a few weeks in advance as those babies will be well & truly rusted into place...Be prepared to cut or torch the bolts off...

Otherwise it's straight forward...Most kits come with great instructions. If you are going the non-kit path let us know and we'll list os the various steps...

(Actually performed this mod too Gilo graemlins/avid.gif ;) )

I have a daystar 1" kit for a CJ7 that I have not yet installed. Cost me US$100 It has new body mounts intergrated in the lift. Most are just blocks that sit ontop of the body mount

For a 1" kit there is not much needed but a 2" kit takes a lot more work including brackets for steering etc

I dont like the idea of much over 1" on a old CJ body as most of them are alreay weak around the body mounts

Thanks for the help! I'm still checking out both options (ie. kit or make some up).

Not sure what to do yet but there's no hurry...

Not looking forward to seeing what condition those bolts are in though! :(

If they are in any sort of condition like your radiator hoses ( all loose and half a tank of water ) and 3 wires not connected to the manifold swithes, you will not have fun with them

How cool! Thanks so so much! I'll give you a call this weekend if that's cool?

The body mounts and bolts have been replaced in the last six months so they should be ok removing them....
