Please keep in mind the disparity of results reported (eg 1 locker reported with 1 failure = 100% failure ratio). The primary focus of this survey was to highlight the most common problem with differing designs of locking diffs. A locker failure is equated to a failure of the locking mechanism due to it's own system's malfunction (eg Detroit runs out of oil or ARB air line breaks).

1/2/loose bolts damaged diffgears,air comp : fuse replace gears and locker bolts, replace fuse
1/1/electrical-switch : rewire switch
1/1/electrical-air comp : rewire air comp
1/1/electrical-fuse : replace fuse
1/1/sheared bolts : drill & retap to 3/8"
1/1/damaged carrier due to pinion breakage :replace carrier + pinion

1/1/Internal airline failure : Replace airline

1/3/o-ring, air comp fuse + leaks :replace o-ring,replace fuse,
replace air line, 18 mths
2/0/air comp :solenoid oil contamination, dislodged rubber seal air pumped into line, replace seal

1/0/11 year old install, owned 6 months
1/0/air comp:leaking pressure sensor
2/0/air comp: fuse holder, air tank seal replace fuse holder, replace seal

1/1/severed air line against body: replace and reroute air line

2/1/intermittant wiring: rewire with water resistant fittings

2/3/Solenoid, air comp fuse, intermittant elec failures: replace solenoid,fuse rewire compressor

1/1/Cracked housing + oil contamination: Clean and Weld housing.
2/2 air comp:fuse, wiring. Air leak: replace fuse, rewire.replace air line

Wow so i'm in the smaller 23% that have never had a problem with the ARB & the smaller 24% that have never had a problem with the LockRight....I'm a happy camper ;)
