Browsing JU and saw a link to these quick disconnects.

They use air line fittings for the disconnect portion of them but there are no details. I thought this was a real neat idea but would air line fittings be up to the task?? I think I'll have a look at how tough my shop compressor fittings are tonight.

I think the airline part is just used so you dont have to swing the bar out of the way after disconnecting at the bottom but with a fitting at the top and bottom the whole bar could be easily taken out I think.

I saw this thread myself a while ago. Sounds neat but I dont think they would last long. Most use 4 - 6 balls that drop into a small groove in the male nipple to hold it in the coupling. When you see how fast these balls & thegroove wear in normal w/shop use I can't believe they would last more that 2 - 3 weeks of normal driving.
