We're thinking of carting the ORI TJ up to QLD for a couple of events this year to see what the comp scene is like up there. Can anyone (probably JimmyB would be best) tell me what's available in terms of 1-2 day comps and when they're held?

Thanks! 8)

Maddog, be more specific as to the type of event. Remember we have XRCC, winch challenges, short courses and others.

Probably after something like a rock crawling event. Something similar to Nissan Trials and Woodpecker would be cool.

I reckon give the ASCC (short Course) events a run. I'd love to give them a go sometime.

Like Sir Camel said, try the Tough Tracks comps (Replacing ASCC). They are more like your Woodpecker type course. For Rock Crawling there is the Qrock events (which apparently are pretty hard) or XRCC and you would be up against the buggies and you better not like your panels.

The dates for the Tough Tracks comps are:

ROUND ONE: will be held at Black Duck Valley [Gatton Qld] on the 5-6 march 2005.

Hamburger stand will be operating.

Track one for Trophy class and Challenge class will start at 9 am saturday.
Track two for Trophy class and Challenge class will start at 1 pm saturday.
Track three for Trophy class and Challenge class will start at 9am sunday.

ROUND TWO: will be held at Landcruiser Mountain Park [Jimna Qld] on the june long weekend 11-12 june 2005.

Track one for Trophy class and Challenge class will start at 9 am saturday.
Track two for Trophy class and Challenge class will start at 1 pm saturday.
Track three for Trophy class and Challenge class will start at 9am sunday.

ROUND THREE: to be advised ... sept probably the first or second weekend.

Track one for Trophy class and Challenge class will start at 9 am saturday.
Track two for Trophy class and Challenge class will start at 1 pm saturday.
Track three for Trophy class and Challenge class will start at 9am sunday.

You would obviously be in Challenge class, which means you would have a couple of other TJ's in your class, and JimmyB if he competes.

Maybe this year SJC should put a team in the Logan Challenge for a different type of event.

Cheers
Andy..

Thanks for the info.

Is there a website with the details for Tough Tracks? With the rules and other info?

Sounds like a plan, not sure about the March one, but the others might be a go-er.

Do you have to compete in all 3 to be competetive in the series? Or is each event its own thing?

Is there any info available on the Logan Challenge?
