In addition to the standard Willowglen, Woodpecker and Nissan Trials for this year, we're planning on entering Tough Tracks Rounds 2 and 3 this year.

Round 2 is on the June long weekend and Round 3 is Sept 3/4.

Is there anyone from NSW that's going up to this?

Round 2 is around 2 months away now.

Anyone from NSW decided they're going to compete, or come up to watch? It's at LCMP.

Which QLDers from this board are competing in this one? Anyone in Challenge class?

i could only see NCW going to challenge class for this one.. i think the rest of us like the though of an easy podium place in production/trophy class!

Will be there even if I have to trailer it up.

Maddog, give LCMP a call and ask for a entry form for the superior challenge all terrain comp. From what I understand it will be similar to Tuff Truck but have alot more prize money. I don't know if you have to compete in each round as the first round is on the first weekend in may and then the second round is the weekend after the tough tracks comp in June. You could come up in June do Tough Tracks with us, leave your rig up here for a week then fly back up and do the second superiour challenge comp. I should be in the superior challenge comp as a Navi, my TJ isn't big enough for this comp, but yours might be.

I'd love to see another Jeep (especially a TJ :D ) sticking it to the Nissan & Yota clan in the Challenge class, not since Jimmy's efforts has a Jeep entered this class....See there.

How did Jimmy go in Challenge class? Is there much of a difference between Trophy and Challenge classes?

It use to be called modified class. Jimmy did okay, took out a few stages etc.

The main difference really is the size and steepness of things. The rocks are slightly larger, the climbs and drops steeper. The steepness is the thing that scares me and stops me from worrying about stepping up a grade.

Fish,

As long as you guys had a good time - well done for having a crack. Hope the repairs aren't too savage (to Jeep, mind and body).

....and if everyone came 1st their 1st time they'd run out of trophies pretty quickly ! :D

That's why Pete and I choose to hang back in the XWC and let the other battlers ave a bit of limelight for now...bugger the top 10 - it's the battle for BOTTOM 10 that really tests your mettle :)

....and of course PICS WE WANT PICS !!! :P

Well what a crapper of a weekend. Can only report on the Trophy class as I didn’t see much of Challenge class. What I did see of was pretty mad and I will put up one or pics of it later.

Track 1, First truck enters, gets to the 200 point mark, gets stuck. Second truck enters same thing. I enter have one go, bad line. Correct line have second go nearly make it. Then the judge stops me and calls the track off saying it is to hard, and they changed the start. On the restart I drove the whole track easierly only hitting one cone on a shocker of a climb that claimed a lot other trucks. I tied for third as two trucks got through without touching a cone.

The second track was good and I got third, with Aaron in the white one getting a tie for first. At this point there were third trucks on equal first with me on outright 1st on points alone.

Saturday night, we had to have shoot outs for the two tied positions. This is when I dislocated my shoulder and was the end of my weekend

canned the start because it is a big drop off? is that the bad bit?
and that giant racing truck looks pretty flash hey.

andy_n

You had to go up the right hand side off the 200 point cone, they gave two a go, and then gave me a go and when I didn't make it straight up they decided it was too hard for the beginning of the track, would have been a nice 900 or 1000 point mark though.
