OMG. BeaOOOtiful work. Fugly to the max.

Looks like ply though - bit expensive...
Love the liquid nails sealant around the joints.

The inside of the rear is modded too... see? So are the sills, maybe?
Why go to so much trouble and leave the door not sealing around the window?

I made a clear plastic halftop once, out of plastic sheeting stuff from brunnings... it looked so bad even I wouldn't drive with it on.

that dude that said 'that looks exactly like i thought it would' hot the nail on the head. it looks like crap. I must say, i read the title of this thread and was expecting something with double thickness cardboard and packing tape.
a shame that jeep didnt have woodgrain pannels down the side like americans love so much

not a bad idea it just needs a bit of refinement I wouldn't mind a el cheepo hard top for the bush (winter only) as I worry I'm going to dammage the expensive one

Lol like making it out of some weird plactic resin stuff thats white and painting it black, dark khaki, or spice and putting glass windows in it and gas struts on the rear glass. :)

That makes his jeep look like key-stone-cops meets grissely adams. showin my age now, eh?

It's not THAT bad. It does appear to DO what the designer intended - if it does the job... and it was probably cheap. Not much risk of anyone stealing it, either. Maybe he lives in a high crime area... like Sydney.

I don't know what scares me more. Is it the top? Is it that someone could come up with such an idea? Is it that someone (more than one?) thinks it looks good? Or is it the fact that someone responsible for that is licensed to drive on the road!!!

Great for camping - always having firewood available for those cold nights..

c'mon admit it. you've all had stoopid ideas like this. I think the difference is that we dont spend three hours making our stoopid ideas, then stand back and think hmmm, that'll look bloody fantastic on the jeep...............................or do we? lets see pics of all your stoopidest ideas made real.

I wonder if they have done crash test on that design.

You will need a bloody big needle to get the splinters out

The closest I've come to making something with that much wood was building a bonfire!

when i can be arsed, ill have a go at makin stuff, usually out of timber, then look at it and think 'that looks crap and im embarrased' so ill make something else out of what i can salvage fron my original creation. This, too will also look crap and embarrrasing. Eventually it'll sit covered in the shed for a few years, then make it's way to the council kerbside collection cleverly disguised with busted fans and warped particleboard bookcases and anything else i can find to cover it up. :)

Im an ideas man, not a follow through man. lol
