Has anyone fitted or have some pics of a TJ sump guard. I was looking at either buying the Warn one or making something similar. Any help or recomendations would be appreciated.

That ain't that bad, there is a post in this section about dropping the sump and fixing it somewhere. There is some nasty pics in that.

It looks like my sump

I'm thinking of making a skid which runs from the transfer case skid to just in front of the sump

i went custom using the same principles as warn..........that is, attach to the engine mounts and full skid to the clayton belly pan, works for me -can take some photos if you need them.

you can buy a bolt-on option from nthdegreemobility or a heavy duty sump if you don't require the full skid

Norm have you compared the clearance of the warn plate against that of the stock unit at all.
I notice you have the spacers in your transfer case skid in . Is this required for the warn plate to fit up.

This T/Case skid is $490 +$245 (US) for auto skid 2.5" extra clearance.

The warn plate is approx 330. It sits a little closer to the auto transmission than the stock plate. Although I have a SYE, I don't have a cardinal joint rear tail shaft. The spacers under the transfer skid plate are to keep the drive angle correct so there's no vibs.

when i first bought the jeep i got the sump skid plate from jeep as an optional extra. its bent up badly, after landing on a tree log, (definately isn't very strong) and also the increased travel of a 2 inch lift causes the front drive shaft to scrub on the side of the skid plate when the front flexes... shredding the rubber boot.

Does the warn one have any of these problems? also how much does it cost...

The Warn one eliminates all these problems. Are you talking full length skid or just the trannie oil pan skid?

I'm not sure I'm too keen on the way the suport curves over the drive shaft I reccon it'll deform if hit hard

I think its mounted to the engine or transmission . So it doesn tneed to bridge over to the the chassis rail like the stock ones.
