When i disconnect the front sway bars, my front tyres are scrubbing on the inside of the flares where the lip is (where the flares bolt to the body) when at full twist. I have 31s and a 2inch lift.

Whats the best way to fix this? i was thinking of taking an angle grinder to the plastic where its scrubbing.. or do i need something more like a body lift??

you may find that a body lift will fix up your problem... although... i have 32" and a 2inch lift, and a 1"BL and mine still rubs.

If that fails, you would need to extend your bumpstops. There is a thread in here on how to make your own... but thats up to you :)

hope that helps... even the slightest.

Thanks

when you say twisting? do you mean flexing, or full lock on the steering wheel?

if its just full lock on the steering wheel some washers under the steering stops should stop this.

is this any help?

two $15 coil spacers could help......

Mate,

You will find that with coil spacers.. you will just have more up travel - so you will still rub...

MAny people on here informed me about this when i originally wanted to do a BL (or coil spacers as the other option).

Thanks

A long arm kit will help :)

1" body lift with properly backspaced rims will do. I ran that setup for 2 years without rubbing my 33's.

My 3" + 2"BL with 35s rubs a lot...
Bumpstops are the answer.

although the bump stops are extended, if the front tyres are scrubbing at full flex could i be doing damage to the shocks?

Naah.
To overcompress the shocks you'd need your wheels to travel further than yours will allow - cos they scrape first. Ironically, the scraping is protecting the shocks!

But if you lifted without swapping shocks, they can overextend... which is very bad for them.

If you wanna make your own bumpstops, check www.fuglyfab.com for the cheapest fugliest method.
