Spend a few $$$ and get a quality immobilisor. Maybe even an alarm with microwave sensor to detract from opportunist theives (esp when roof and windows are off). Immobilisors are compulsary here in WA and car theft rates dropped significantly when this was introduced. However, always remember, no matter how much security you put in your vehicle if somebody really wants it they will take it, the best you can do is deter them as best as possible.

My uncle build a beach buggy years ago. He had a fuel kill switch in plain view but no one knew what it was...and for a car with absolutely no security and well worth stealing it was never touched.

Theives know car security systems, as they can buy them & learn them. A well hidden kill switch is unique, and will catch them off guard. That may be enough to make them leave your Jeep and find something else.

A fake distributer lead is a good trick my grandpa used to do. It looked fine but was broken inside. Zero power to the dist cap = no go nowhere. :)
