Anyone ever tried or use a Super-Flex Uni joint from poly 4x4?? just wondering wheather or not it would help with lift kits that don't have a SYE. They claim it has approx. 5" or 10 degrees of additional droop before binding. It might be a help for those of us that don't want (can't afford) to purchase SYE right away to allow them to run say a 2 - 4" lift without vibes??

They might help with the vibrations, but my concern would be is they don't change the factor design flaw......and the output shaft is still vunerable to bending/breaking...just my 2cents....

Agreed Wooders- these will be going onto a rear HD SYE. (i Believed you when you said the original drive shaft was poo) 9)

They are strong enough for our application.
Have a look at the size of the unis that comp trucks are running.
They are the same :)

U-bolt's will require new yokes or I guess you could modify your current ones if you could be bothered.
They are a lot better than those stupid straps.

cheers

The size of the uni doesn't help the pitiful size of the output shaft though and doesn't change the stupid factory design.....

modifying the current yoke is my plan - idea's on the spec / whereabouts of a new U bolt? (completly agree the cap sucks ass)

Btw - offset uni's are in and working fine - don't like the location of the greasnipples in the caps - vulnerable.....

+ a fitting tip - the supplied clips hang up on the grease nipples! (well affects one clip on the driveshaft- of the two you use) so we dremeled a small piece off (shortened the "ear" that you compress the clip by)

hey nigel - take a pic!
