I have just got myself some 35x12.5 claws, after i got them fit i went for a little bit of a play, i dropped the pressures down the 14psi and headed into the bush, they seemed to lack the grip that my stt's provided. I ran my stt's at 14 - 15psi and they were fantastic. I know that Mr_Super_Star ran his 33" claws @ 8psi and man did those tyres grip, so i am assuming it is just a pressure thing. So guys and gals, save me some time with trial and error and let me know what pressures you run.

How much stiffer is the sidewall?

My mate has to run his 34 inch JT2's at 5psi as the side wall is just so stiff...

the stt sidewall seems thicker than that of the claws, they are bagging out well at 14psi but they don't grip anything like the stt's did.

I run mine around the 15 to 18 mark, depending on how the stauns are feeling at that time.
never seem to have any hassles. too scared to run them any lower as I dont wanna be busting the bead. and my poor lil arb air compressor miught die from being over worked

@ 14psi they grip like shit on rocks. my stt's kick the living shit out of the claws for grip at that pressure......

I dont disagree that lower the better, but even on rocks they stick like shit to a blanket.. well at least for me :s
maybe my wieght works to my advantage too haha

I run my radial claws at 12psi on the 16's and the bias at 5psi

even at 12psi...never dropped a bead so could go lower

might try going lower then. could only be a plus., as they are great tyres already

I used to run my bias claws at 10-12 psi but after complaining about the lack of grip, someone suggested that I try much lower. I settled on about 4-5 and the difference was significant. Another tip I recived was to "break 'em in" I ran then on the road (very carefully in a very remote spot I have to say) at about 60kmh for 30mins. It made a big difference with the tyre bagging out a lot more and the grip was much improved. I have to say that I have dropped the bead a few times but only on extreme side angles.
