View Full Version : Clunky sound driving up hill.
Hey guys,
Since I got 33's I have noticed when doing a hill start on a steep hill i hear a clunking noise underneath until i get up to speed.
Does anyone know what this is ?

I get the noise when im on road going up hill. Any suggestions ?

Gearbox mount or a uni joint, grab ur rear uni and shake the shit out of it, ifthere is play it's stuffed.

Otherwise t miiiiight be the transfer case knocking issue thingy. When it happens, put your hand on the transfer case lever & see if you can feel it.

If your Bump stops are chewed out it could be one of your coils rubbing/ bumping on a bent bump stop shaft. I had that issue so every time I took off and my car lurched the coil would rub.

Mate check out your exhaust.. quite a few ppl on here recently have been discussing it.. I had it when i initially bought my tj. The rear mounting bracket just beside the drive side rear wheel was loose and allowed the exhaust to hit the chassis.

check to makes sure you havn't run over a yowie then check the exhaust pipe ;)
