Hi Guys and Girls,

I need advise on things to check with my 2000 TJ with its fuel usage.
I am running 33 on standard ratios and my fuel usage has always been poor to say the least with about 350km per tank, however this last couple of tanks of fuel I have been getting about 250km per tank:wall:.
My driving style has not changed, all the tyers are pumped up with the same pressure as always, I am using the same fuel (octane rating) from the same fuel company.
So I figure there may be some sort of a problem so I ran the scan on the dash trick with the key and there are no reports of anything with an error.

So any tricks, ideas or suggestions would be very welcomeas its sending me broke trying to keep fuel to the bloody thing.

Cheers

Steve

Oxygen sensors can be stuffed without codes apparently. Are you still running stock sensors?

you could try running a scan gauge to see if any oxy trouble codes are present

what sort of mileage have they done? once they reach a certain age, oxy sensors tend to deteriorate

you could also reset your PCM to its default settings by:-
Disconnect the POSITIVE battery Terminal and touch it to ground for 30 seconds. (This is to discharge the PCM capacitors, which maintain the Adaptive Memory.
Reconnect the Battery Cable
Turn Ignition Switch to the “On” position but DO NOT start the engine
Turn Headlight “On”
Turn Headlights “Off”
Turn Ignition Key “Off”

this will reset the engines computer. it may run rough for a few minutes until it relearns itself then smooth out

also that "pop up" @&%*# ad is a PITA when posting a reply

Do you have any exhaust leaks before your cat.
I have just replaced my cracked exhaust manifold and got an improvement in fuel economy,
