I have a replacement header and I am wanting to coat it in the hope to stop it from rusting too bad.

i have thought about spray painting with exhaust paint or my other plan was getting it electroplated chromed.

which would be the best.

I haven't used them, myself, but I think you are after something like these guys do: Jet-Hot (http://www.jet-hot.com.au/products.htm)

JET-HOT develops, produces and applies a variety of coatings. Properties of the various coatings include insulation, corrosion resistance, abrasion and impact resistance as well as lubricity. All are applied at our factory through a meticulous, multi-step process including: thermal degreasing, abrasive-blast stripping with virgin aluminum oxide, double-coating (inside and out on headers), high temperature curing, custom packaging for return shipping, and quality-assurance controls during every phase of the procedure.

Several colours as well. Would like to get the headers on my Blackbird done, but never had the disposable income to toss at it. :(

I got my buell Micron exhaust HPC coated in silver. bloody good finish on it, and worth the money ( I think it was about 400 bucks 18 months ago).
Def protects against rust and discolouring. Also makes people go "what's with the dull steel exhaust?"

Got these HKS headers ceramic coated by Competition Coatings in Brisbane. Excellent service and they looked like sex when installed.

Helps keep the engine bay cooler and the exhaust gasses hotter. Will help with preventing heatsoak to the jeep intake manifold too.
