i have a low KLM 96 4L engine sitting at my place, and was thinking of making it into a project to swap into my current 96. i wanted ideas on how to "work" it up a bit and give it a bit more grunt.

Hmmm... stroke it maybe?..

But there are other options if you don't want to stroke it.

The 4.0l is just like any other engine, it responds well to exhaust and intake improvements.

A good 4.7 stroker should make around 250-270hp at the crank.

But I think that 220ish is acheivable with some headwork, cam, extractors and throttle body/intake upgrades..

Mine was dyno'd at 107, and with a Jet Chip it made 108.

Ive been wanting to do that for so long but the $$$$ scares me, mine is a 05 mod so that means i need a ls2 for emissions regs. to do the v8 option i'll end up spending more then the jeep is worth:(.
The stroker, RB26:D or the turbo falcon engine with a auto (as my 6 speed is rooted) seems to be the way to go. A nice turbo diesel cat would be cool:cool:

Stroke it :D

Or pick up a secondhand eaton m90 supercharger on ebay or even a new yella terra unit and charge the nuts off it. Some work on the intake manifold will be required ... i've always wanted to do this.

If it's got an 0630 cylinder head they take to port work quite well, couple that with a 99+ intake manifold, headers and a bigger throttle body and you'll milk some very noticeable horsepower out of it.
