View Full Version : Removing Dash for Spotlight Switches

I need to install my switches so i can hook up my spotties correctly, but i cant seem to get my dash board off where the switches should go... anyone know how to get it off? i pushed one of the spaces in, but its not meant to be like that... hmmmm

you have to unbolt/unclip it all.

starts with the top panel that sits riiight below the windscreen facing the roof. that unclips and then you go from there.

yeah just pop the top piece off and you will see two screws, un-do them and then rip the console off

there are clips holding it on after the two screws so pulling it off works fine, i find of you open the glove box it comes off a bit easier

i find you need to be gentle with the top peice, it likes to flex a little haha

There's a third screw. Behind the ashtray.

i dont have a screw behind my ash tray......come to think of it i dont even have an ash tray

mines a 05 tj sport

from the shop manual:)

(1) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative
cable.
(2) Remove the instrument panel top cover from
the instrument panel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT
PANEL/INSTRUMENT PANEL TOP COVER
- REMOVAL).
(3) Remove the ash receiver from the ash receiver
housing in the lower instrument panel center bezel.
(4) Remove the one screw located in the back of
the ash receiver housing that secures the center
bezel to the lower instrument panel (Fig. 2).
(5) Remove the two screws that secure the center
bezel to the top of the instrument panel.
(6) Using a trim stick or another suitable wide
flat-bladed tool, gently pry the lower edge of the center
bezel away from the instrument panel.
(7) Lift the lower edge of the center bezel upwards
to release the four snap clip retainers that secure it
to the instrument panel.
(8) Remove the center bezel from the instrument
panel.
(9) Remove the two screws that secure the radio to
the instrument panel (Fig. 3).
(10) If the vehicle is equipped with the CD radio
receiver, go to Step 11. If the vehicle is not equipped
with the CD radio receiver, go to Step 13.
(11) Remove the glove box from the instrument
panel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/
GLOVE BOX - REMOVAL).
