View Full Version : Nsg370 oil??

Hey guys.

what oil do you use in your nsg370 tranny??
i want to replace mine tomorrow aswell and the transfer fluid.
i no the ATF+4 goes in the transfer.
but am unsure on the transmission. the mopar stuff is $46 for 1L
so is there anything else that is just as good out??

the 370 can be prone to shift problems from the grade and quality of fluid, i have even heard of problems with the mopar fluid. Royal purple fluid seems to be the winner across the board though, even solving 3-2 downshift and 1-2 upshift problems that the mopar fluid didnt.

be very carefull what you use in the NSG.

use Mopar MS9224 part number 04874464. it takes 1.5 litres.

yes it is pricey. the FSM manual says it never needs changing, but I think it wise to replace every 50,000, so based on that its not to expensive

trying a different oil may seem ok in the short term, but problems due to this usually take thousands of kilometers to manifest before the operator realises there is a problem and it can be a very expensive experiment

do a search on these transmissions before you try to save ten bucks for something else
