Oil leek on trans dust cover

Oils been leaking and dripping off trans dust cover.

See photos showing oil coming off dust cover.

I removed the dust cover and used a degreaser to get rid of all the oil in the bust cover area. When I removed the dust cover I found a bent bolt. After removing the dust cover I turned lunch the car let it run for 20min. Drove it for 10min. See photos of removed dust cover after drive.

I also took a photo of the front oil pan facing front of car. which I didn’t clean. The trans fly wheel is clean so don’t think it’s the main seal. Any suggestions? Oil pan seal? Gasket seal?

      I think it’s the gasket?

Before jumping to expensive conclusions, and having pigeon for xmas lunch instead of turkey, I have had similar and worse oil sprayed everywhere in same places you describe. First time it was the gasket between lower sump and bottom surface of oil sump spacer. Easy fix... changed the gasket.

More recently and 90000km later had oil covering everywhere under engine (sump, transmission, bell housing, back of engine, firewall etc.). Too much to locate.

So I squirted about 4 cans of engine degreaser everywhere and sprayed it off so everything as clean as could be. No more leaks at this stage after 1000kms... will keep looking.

What I think has happened is that the engine oil filter was not tight enough a couple of times and a lot of oil sprayed from here over everything. Over time and without realising or having a good look, all of the above got oiled up. So what I thought would b exxy repairs so far does not look like the case. I will keep a good eye on underneath from now on. Also u will be surprised how much grease and grime is thrown up from the road over a long period of time. Cheers

My oil pan gasket on my 6sp manual CRD was leaking and blowing it all over the place.
Could see it dribbling out down the front of the pan.
Replaced both pan & gasket as it was well rusty anyway.
Ever since I have to put more than the required 6.6 litres in if I want to bring it up to the top mark on the dip stick.
Wonder if the replacement pan is a little deeper than the original ?
