    Performance upgrades for the CRD?

Has anyone done any upgrades? Exhaust, Air filter etc..

Need more power off road and would like more economy on road. 33's have added abut 1.5l/100km according to trip computer. My speedo is only slightly out so its mostly accurate (or as accurate as it was before the lift!)

Hey dave have you heard of DPChip? Check it out.

Plug & Play DPCHIP, get up to 35% more power and torque! Up to 10% better fuel economy! 6 year warranty, 60 days money back guarantee! plug-in power for all EFI diesel engines....

The chip for our CRD is DP-31 at a price quoted to me at $1320.00.

www.dpchip.com/vehicles.html for before and after power and torque.

    It sounds pretty good.

I totally agree. I was tossing up between the dp chip or full hid kit. I chose the HID kit. I looking for a exhaust now so that when I do get the chip I can tell the guys what mods I have so they can tune the chip to support the mods already installed.

The dodge Nitro has the same engine with 460nm. The wrangler engine has been detuned. not sure why. But it shows it is possible.

Just thought I'd bump this to see if anyone has done any mods. Has anyone done an exhaust on the CRD yet?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO - what a ride!"

Redgp has had the Taipan XP muffler fitted a couple of months ago to make room for other mods underneath and commented that it made litle or no difference to the sound and performance of his CRD JK 2door auto.
He just fitted the DP chip last week end and is raving about the difference in torque. He pulls a 1 ton camper trailer and I went out with him before and after and even from the passengers seat I could feel the difference. Apparently the chip releases the extra grunt of other mods if you tell them when you order it what mods you have done.
We dragged the trailer through tracks, up dunes and along the beach at wilbinga without a hint of being stuck, was very impressive. the new lockers and the lift helped as well I guess, but it sure makes the JK an awsome truck.

theres always this option, A diesel/gas conversion, www.gastek.com.au, Id never even head of it until talkin to a mate with a navara diesel and apprently it addes a huge increse in performance and decrese in fuel economy. If you read their site it raves about it and the results. But if its so ducks nuts why hasnt it taken off yet? Or have i just not heard of it.
