JL Wrangler faults

So far we have heard of display intermittent faults in the display on two separate vehicles, what else have you experienced in your new JL Wrangler?

Went for a little drive last week and had a sway bar connect failure, turned out to be the nut holding the sway bar link to the bar end had worked loose and stripped out. We did two of these on the JK and fixed it with aftermarket disconnectable sway bar links but this time its under warranty at ~13000KM. On order from the US, currently bodged up with a spacer and new nut.

Same happens 2 me on the aftermarket sway bar links. One bolt fell out of the aftermarket disconnectable sway bar link. The JK swayed and wobbled around on the road like a cock in a sock, which gave away the problem. I have put in a M10 bolt and nut that works loose from time to time but has been there for about 5 years now. Much stronger than OE set up. Oh, and the check engine light has been on for about 12 years or s but everything still goes good. A gremlin somewhere but I have given up worrying about it.

Hi all. I have a JLU Rubicon petrol v6 auto. It's got about 7,000km on it now. At low speed at very light feathering of the throttle there is a rattling noise that comes from under the car. It's only with very light acceleration, and it won't do it just sitting in park and revving the engine. It's very noticeable when the sound bounces back, say when you're driving near a wall or fence. There is no loss of performance, the gears change fine, and there's no other thing to fault. I can't see anything lodged in the undercarriage. It's more than just a solenoid sound, too. Does anyone else have this? I've tried online and people are talking that it's engine pinging etc but I don't think so.

An easy way to check if it is pinging or not is to fill it up with high octane unleaded and try and make it do it. We had the JK well loaded up on a holiday in Tassie in 2016 and the fuel down there was so bad it was pinging its head off, a fill with high octane fixed it and it hasn't done it since, must have just been poor quality fuel.

Mee too. I suspect its a normal sound. 24,000k for me.

A lot of talk on the US forums about the knocking noise. Most are saying yes it is pinging and seems to happen to a lot of them. Some are saying higher octane makes no difference. Sounds concerning to me as pinging can lead to detonation.

It's not pinging. I read a heap of that pinging stuff when I first looked this up. Let's be honest, pinging doesn't happen anymore (on new, ordinary car engines). And pinging reduces engine performance, it's not just a sound. There's something else that's causing it.

New JT Gladiator had a fault with its central locking system, in that the door motors wouldn't unlock any of the doors. Lock is fine, and the unlock still flashes the lights/ turns off the immobiliser - just won't unlock the doors.

Apparently 4 weeks for the part. Asked why we couldn't just swap it out for a functioning one they said they were VIN-specific
