That's awesome thanks for sharing the pics.
I think I know the answer to this, but did you see any other TJ's up the cape?

I will have to check out your rig more to see what setup you're running.....

Just did cape York in the TJ

Just successfully completed the Frenchman’s and the old telegraph track in my 05 TJ.managed every crossing and obstacle except Gun shot creek. The TJ was just too short and a 4 to 5 foot drop after the rear wheels rolled over the top was just not an option. We considered lowering me in and winching me out but it was like Burke street at peak hour the day we were there.

Taking the gunshot bypass was vindicated after the 2 other vehicle I was traveling with both sustained several thousands of dollars damage and cost us a full day of repairs on the track. I managed every other obstacle without needing the winch. Apart from a bit of water in the cab my sum total of damage for the trip was a slightly dented exhaust pipe, a bent sway bar connection pin, a blown brake light globe, a bit of water in my headlight, a slight leak in a rear axle seal.

No panel damage. The TJ performed extremely well and outdid a lot of very expensive vehicles much to the discussed of their owners. Don’t put it off your TJ is more than capable of completing the trip. Will post some photos once I get home and more than happy to answer any questions with regards to vehicle prep and mods you might consider.
