Z46 Recall completed on the Jeeperific by Armstrongs of Toowoomba, dropped off at 0730 ready at 1330 ............... 40km run back to where I'm staying and it ran well and seems a bit quieter, so new HPFP,new fuel filters and they replaced a hose clamp at no charge ............. 2nd time I have used them for a recall and been very good to deal with..
high pressure fuel pump recall

Check under the bonnet again and it seems the fuel lines from pump to both rails replaced and a couple of injectors got new lines as well ....................... another good drive today and its certainly a lot less noise than before, so maybe it was injectors/pump being noisy at times ..............
I wonder if the hoses that got new clamps for free done as a reward as they didn't have to stuff around with the plastic cover or sound proof blocks over the motor........2015 WK2 Laredo(ZG, WG)

Honestly can't recall how long to remove those foam blocks as mine have been off for years, only one left is the one behind the cover on the fuel pump .....................2015 WK2 Laredo(ZG, WG)

With so many variables in place before...and now after...the Recall, it's more than difficult to apply a fuel usage comparison to that action alone.
My thinking regards the 'minor/placebo' changes are:
The battery is disconnected during the work...therefore...a full reset occurs...being these 'electronic marvels' learn while we drive...I 'believe' it may simply have returned to Factory Default mode ?????
I have no complaints....the $$$'s...Klm's and time spent have been worth it....bloody beautiful cars.....simple improvements have made it better.....zero complaints.
ps: My bus is an old '13 model....a second Fuel Pump Relay Recall was also carried out during the HPFP Recall....there's another 'variable' to be considered....that includes work on/around the TIPM.
I still experience 'interference' from the PCM, created by the tranny issue and the Morey's fix I used, at start up and initial movement on cold mornings.Last edited by FARWEST; 31-10-2024, 08:32 AM.WK2 MY13 CRD LIMITED

So for some of us its over a month since the pump upgrade ......................
Anyone notice any changes at all to overall vehicle performance ???? ...............................................
Mine is running pretty well the same as before, possibly minor better fuel economy when towing and engine runs a bit quieter but that could be Im just getting deafer ..............2015 WK2 Laredo(ZG, WG)

Interestingly, I saw on the Facebook group last night that several people were seeing increased consumption of approx. 1L/100km following the recall...2015 GC Limited Diesel w/ QL and ORA pack
