high pressure fuel pump recall

Well its certainly giving me some confidence in getting it done, just have to figure out a few days at daughters place , 640km round trip or a nice stay at Bundy, 380 km round trip.................. then again a day in Noosa with it in at Cricks Jeep might be an easier time, stay O/N and dump it in the day before, then no need to wait till things cool down they can get a early start.................. no rush as I don't think its a biggie here in Oz, though a Valley job would be nice but thats not free.

Not only did i get excellent service by our local dealer, next day FCA sent me questionnaire online ranking their service and anything that could be improved etc- i filled it out with good comnents.
They seem to be trying to find out which of their dealers are good and whose not so good!! good signs i think!!

A bit off topic for the thread, but too little too late unfortunately - have had it confirmed that one of the biggest dealers in SEQ is shutting up their Jeep operations by EOFY. Just not sustainable.

GC is not doing any numbers whatsoever, and the Wrangler / Gladiator aren't volume sellers. Be interesting to see whether the recent massive price cuts on the GC shift the needle at all. Similarly the new 4 pot coming with the facelift Wrangler (and GC shortly) - although I've heard it's a bit lacklustre and burns through more fuel than the Pentastar...

Very clear departure from the traditional GC formula, moving more towards luxury SUV. Not what the market wants here, but we're a drop in the ocean - USA is a different story with what customers want though.

Anecdotally they priced themselves out of the market a bit there too, however... Although I'm not sure this is a fair comment as the price of all vehicles has increased markedly, and people are still adjusting.

Safe to say my next vehicle won't be a GC and will probably end up being a new Prado (or Hilux or Ranger V6).

Hi all.
Thanks for this post. Only had the GC for a few months and hadn't thought about recalls. Until now. Apparently mines had most of them done except this one. think i'll give the local dealer a call on monday and get the ball rolling.

The story is quite different here in Perth fortunately. First call to my nearest dealership and they were so friendly and welcoming over the phone to get this recall done. Got it booked in so quick in fact I had to push days as I was busy. Taking the car in this Monday so have to see how they go. Hoping it is only the pump that needs replacing and they don't need to open up too many components.

Can I ask where you booked? Looking to get this done but will lose my tune again which is annoying but guess better than losing a fuel pump.

I tend to agree with you, our local dealer is still doing new jeeps but they have taken on a couple of new brands also.
Even they could not understand Jeeps current direction.
They have now ceased buying used wk2 jeeps, only taking them in as trade in’s
in their new cars
As mentioned, they jumped off the diesel brand wagon to early with ford and toyota scooping up wk2 owners looking for a new car..
Jeep are now driven more by European emission laws and culture, thus losing their go anywhere, tow anything 4x4.
Shame really and their Ceo needs a kick in the ass!!

Well they jumped on the Euro specs way, way back with the WG/J diesel, everyone did to conform to Euro 3/4/5/6 and 6 being what all the Hoo Haa has been about with the new Australian regs coming in, a bit strange I thought, as for the car makers it isn't anything new and they have been churning out compliant vehicles for Euro 5/6 for many years ... but many companies are going WOKE and the Dutch owners of Chrysler are no exception ...................

Im saving up for a couple of lightweight Yanmar diesel Gennies to strap onto my new EV Ute for touring, just hope they have room for Jerry Cans of fuel .......
