I don't have any issue with Mackay hoses though and Mopar doesn't fill me with confidence since they also made the valley hose .......... probably gates hoses anyway........ but can understand using genuine then no comeback to workshop if something fails as they used genuine ............ but then everyone uses an after market knock up job for the Valley hose ................ mind you if I breakdown on side of road, I don't care how or what just fix the bastard...................
There are options in materials to replace the valley hose for sure and may well be better in the long run. I had both the valley hose and rear turbo hose done in this one not long after I bought it...(factory hoses) for peace of mind when doing the lap...at 7 Slot of course, that was 52,000 kms ago.
I will definitely have both the Z hose and the EGR hose done within the next 5,000kms...don't want to see either of those let me down being weather is getting a tad hotter now. As Pete wrote, a bloke had both those hoses inspected in his GC which was in the workshop, looked fine at the time so opted to leave replacement to next service...oops...big mistake as one failed not long later...CJ5, CJ7, XJ Sport, WJ HO V8 Overland, WH Hemi V8 Overland, 14 WK2 CRD Laredo-RIP, 15 WK2 CRD Laredo

Worth every cent fella's....as the Owner stated he sells the aftermarket upgraded kits for the '14 onwards models....my old bus just needed the EGR and Oil Cooler hoses....I'm sure members with dextrous hands, narrow wrists, nimble fingers and the correct tooling could do the job. Have seen a few threads with detailed accounts on just how the job is to be performed...FULL kudos to them ..genuinely take my hat off to them... admirable stuff indeed.
The situation I was/am in didn't allow the extra care needed.....no brainer to enlist the experts.....VERY glad I did and didn't do the usual ...'if they can do it so can I'...can relax and know the jobs done right and hoses are safe until 295k comes up on clock....very wishful thinking...always positive.
On the loose change couch search...if you fella's ever need a hand moving your couch/furniture.. I'm available...jus sayin... lol....and CONGRATS to your better half LeCheese...awesome stuffLast edited by FARWEST; 14-11-2024, 01:09 PM.WK2 MY13 CRD LIMITED

I certainly wouldn't be replacing the valley hose with genuine, don't have an issue with most genuine so long as they are not prone to failure its the price they want for the things that makes me baulk ............. I very much doubt the quality would be any better than high end aftermarket gear...... MObs like Gates and Mackay provide warranties anyway.
If I'm to get the valley done I will more than likely have to attack the EGR and Oil Cooler jobs myself, pennies won't stretch for them all .......
I'm truly glad its all sorted for you Pete and relatively painless ........It woudl have been a bonfire if you were at home I reckon. ................ Now for the next saga, won't say a damn thing as I don't want to get the blame .........................Last edited by drover; 15-11-2024, 08:03 AM.2015 WK2 Laredo(ZG, WG)

New wheels and tyres as I hit a curb very hard the other day. Buckled the rim big time . Hard to find trailhawk wheels. Anyhow second hand polished wheels and new
falken wild peak at3 in 265/65r18 and all is good again.
Plus the wheel alignment of course. I liked the grey wheels but these are growing on me .1 Photo03 WG grand Overland.RIP

Fitting the Airbags to the WK, things started off well but by the time I got to start to pull the spring out the old body was complaining something fierce, since I hadn't even managed to get one side pulled off I thought I better just throw it back together and send it to a workshop, Ive finally fallen apart and not able to take on big jobs ................... Have booked the local bloketo do it for me, something I have rarely needed in 54 years ............................ oh well, thats life but funny enough its not pissing me off as much as it would have done ages ago ....Last edited by drover; 22-11-2024, 05:33 AM.2015 WK2 Laredo(ZG, WG)
