Playing around with the 2.7 software (ECU and TCU)

RTB suggested we start a topic about ECU and TCU software updates, more brains means more ideas and a better understanding.

Whoever wants to join in on the fun, I can share the projects, otherwise feel free to chime in based on what printscreens/info we share here.

I'll whip up a reply with some new changes attempted for the ECU and some updates for the cooling maps

Thanks for getting this rolling AdrianD. It will be good to have our findings all here in one place.

I will post all mods I make and how it has worked out (once my MPPS finally arrives). When I finish the Map Builder Calculator I am working on, I will make it public so all can use it to view their Maps and how they all interact with each other.

    Happy tuning!!

First test (RTB found this one): deceleration column has some values different from zero.
A lot of people complain about the idle staying high if revved in high range and trans in neutral or park once the engine is at operating temp. This coincides with the map differences in the 0% throttle column.

We were hoping for improved engine braking by setting all bins to 0. Turns out the revs drop to idle instead of improving engine braking, see youtube link below.

Second mod to test is the cooling:

Right table shows that the fan jumps to 85% duty cycle only at 106*C !

Dropping the 106*C axis point to 102*C will ensure the fan starts to ramp up earlier, as anything between 95*C and 102*C will be an interpolation of the values.
