    Tj or XJ.

Hi guys , along time jeep lurker. Hopefully getting one of the above in the next couple of months.
Question ,are the TJ's four speed autos practical for an everyday driver. I keep hearing that they are notoriously uncomfortable, and not that good on the black top , yet I keep getting drawn to them . Fatal attraction I guess!
Have previously had several diesel hi lux's , Prado GXL , Td5 Disco, and last but not least 88 Hiline RR. All good in their own way. Don't mind a bit of discomfort, but not too much. Might be better off with a late model XJ .
    Interested in your feedback .
    Cheers,
    Barneyboy.

The TJ auto was a 3 speed pre 2003 then 4 speed until 2006. The XJ is also only a 4 speed (Aisin AW-4) which is a different Trans to the TJ (Ultradrive 42RLE). The TJ 4 speed ia also the same as in the 4.0L ZJ Grand Cherokee. As for how the TJ 4 speed drives I can't say, I have an XJ which is heaps more comfortable than any TJ to drive.
Depends on what you want out of a 4x4 really.
It was the wife's car, NOW IT'S MINE FOR THE MODDING!
