I'm still keen for a run at Wombat, but am wondering about seasonal track closures. Does anyone know a good day run at Wombat that is not closed at the moment?

Well Im am going to be going out to wombat and have lunch at Obriens crossing tomorrow with the wife and little one. Anyone interested to join can bring some snags and bread and join.

Anyone who wants to come let me know and we can arrange a meet point in Gisborne

I sent you a pm but for you or anyone else I'm looking to meet at gisborne maccas at 10am

Please note not looking anything but entry level stuff.....

Have found a quite easy track but will make my way to Obriens crossing via some tracks or fire trail only....

            Report:

With my lovely wife ( yes she is in the room ) and my little 3.5 year old we set off to meet bosco at Gisborne Maccas at around 10am.

When bosco arrived we did our pleasantries and took off to carrols lane for some adventure.

Wombat was wet with the recent rain and I was very concerned about my first lead and didn't want to get us bogged as Bosco and I weren't prepared to do any recovery.

I lead us on a nice little track early that gave us no issues. Except for me when I tried to attempt a small clay tacky hill with no speed. We then went on some exploring finding some new tracks on our way to O'Briens crossing.

On the way down we came across a CFA fire truck bogged in a precarious position. The 150m or so drop that was on the passenger side must of made for interesting viewing from there.

Once at O'briens I cooked us up a BBQ lunch while the kids (big and little) threw stones into the creek.

On the way home I found another good track which lead us on about a 45 min tour back to our original starting position. Bosco and I had a play in mud hole which we got some pics and footage of which will be posted soon.

After today id be reasonably confident that I could lead a few more vehicles on this entry level run if people are interested.

Hope you had fun Bosco and you weren't too bored.
