Rim swap question? Has anyone tried running 16inch xj/tj rims?
I want to go wheeling on the weekend, my kk has cooper st, but my xj only has road tyres. The kk is booked in for some work over the weekend and I was wondering if I can just swap over the wheels for the weekend? Any help would be appreciated before I spend the man hours swapping over wheels to find out, thanks |
I'm running 16" rims off a TJ with no problem. Fits straight on. The PCD is the same, but the offset/back spacing is different (the TJ wheels stand out slightly more).
I take it you won't be swapping the TPM sensors over at the moment? They can go into the TJ rims but doesn't sit nice and flush as they do on the KK wheels. There is a possibility of them coming loose over time. I should also mention that I do have a lift kit as well, so while I believe you should be ok... it could be tight dependent on which tyres you're planning to run. Good luck |
Rim swap question? Sweet, thanks its just for the weekend not a long term thing kk and xj both lifted but my kk has slightly bigger wheels

As long as you're not a 2012 KK Jet that came with factory 20" tyres. Apparently 16" rims won't clear the upgraded, slightly larger brake calipers on that particular model.
I'm a 2011 Limited running TJ 16x8 AEV rims also and no dramas with anything. |
