Default Body Lift - extending fuel filler hose?

Planning to put the 2" body lift and 1" MM lift on next weekend with Lexx and the lads.

I've heard it said that I'll have to extend the fuel filler hose. Is the true? What's the best way?

Also, if I'm doing the MM lift, I shouldn't have to do anything with the transfer case (as in use a bracket, that wasn't supplied with the kit).

Any other hints?

Cheers,

Ben

Yes you will need to extend the fuel filler - my tip there is to make sure you get it nice & straight - I unfortunately put a twist in mine and it's been a bitch to refuel ever since (& I've not make the effort to straighten it

As for the linkage bracket - I think you might be able to exclude it - but that really depends on how much your t/case will be dropped by. I'd say that you'll probably still need it though...becuase although you are lifting the engine, the t/case remains still pretty much in the same position - ie 2" lower than the body relative to stock.... If the t/case skid is lowered at all then it will be even more than 2" from stock....

Ok then what's the best to use on extending the fuel filler?
And any tips and tricks on getting this done, any suggestions of tools that may make the job easier would be great aswell.

Thanx

what brand body lift did you get?

I got performance accessories and it came with lots of little cool things like fuel filler and vent hose extensions, t-case shifter linkage plate, steering linkage plate, etc.

Mmmm, it appears my kit's a bit short n "extras", despite being told it was a complete kit with everything needed.

Suppose we'll see how it goes next week. I'll keep you posted.

I take it you don't have any radiator drop drackets either - or are you planning to just clearance the shroud?

The lacking bits aren't a big drama - just have a good look at what you've got, have a good look at your rig and mentally line 'em up and just gather as much info so you're armed in advance (nothing worse than surprises halfway)....
