The unit is not calculating speed based on GPS readings it takes the speed from the CAN bus.

I don't think you will have a problem. I believe the sensor must rotate to be active. E.g. an empty spare does not report low pressure.

The problem with the US hooks for the Commanders...

The problem with the US hooks for the Commanders is that the bracket doesn't fit because of the radiator for the intercooler (CRD). I will probably find someone to make me some new brackets.
