Now I did it twice, First time straight over the chrome in a hurry. No good, paint chipped and peeled. 2nd time sand, primed and painted. Worked beautifully.

Won't be doing a lot with it(ie mods). Done the hardcore thing, now just enjoy the outdoors and would like to do a bit more touring. Just 285's and OME lift, no more.

I can confirm it isn't a left hand thread it is just plain tight.

Worth while marking the nut and shaft so you line the nut back up when tightening to ensure you don't go upsetting preloads etc.
