Go with a front mount winch before adding one to the rear. It will get more use than a rear one will.

Are the stubby bull bars legal in Qld. Does anyone have a link to ADR's stating they are or not?

If you have a look at the QLD Code of practice for light vehicles page 39 in section LH it states that Full width bumper bars must be fitted to the front and rear of the vehicle. As a bulbar is considered a bumper bar, then I'm guessing no.

Well well well, look what Jeep are doing with the JL (from the leaked manuals):
Hopefully it opens the door to stubby bars, similar to the way JK's can run without mudflaps.
