ok i have had 2 complaints of dw at work ( tyre shop ) in the last 2 months the 1st car with dw was caused by the panhard rod bush at the diff end and the second hasnt come in to be checked out yet but is coming back next week i have also found that even if a panhard rod bush seems ok when checking whilst stationary it may seem ok but when you hit a bump in the road at 80 kph there is so much more force applied that dw can still occur from my experience with tj,s and nissan patrol and others that most 95 percent of death wobble issues are panhard rod related i will keep you all posted on what i find with the jk .

other things that i have found to be common problems include control arm bushes , bent steering components , worn tie rod ends , worn bearings .

wheel balance can trigger death wobbles but usually a faulty component is the actual problem .

Default Dredded DW

I have a 07 2 door with 3 inch lift and 33s on Procomp wheels I used Fox shocks and a Fox steering dampner the car has 57000 ks on the clock and it has NO DW at any speed. The lift wheels and dampner were put on the car at 56000 ks and it did not have the DW before.
I dont believe the DW is a consequence of worn parts eg bushes and the like, other wise you would think a car with 57000 ks would have the problem. Before the lift was not a road car it had been used as I found out once I was under the car.
I am using all the original buses and rubbers from the original panhard rods and none of the other bushes were changed, all these rubbers and bushes have 57000 ks on them.
All the parts on my vehicle were purchased and fitted by Wizard Performance on the Gold Coast.

Default Death wobble

Yes first one at about 45k
second one 3 weeks later
both times down hill around 80k
total loss of steering after hitting a bump
3rd time on freeway at 70k bridge crossing
as I was merging but was a minor one

jeep replaced front stabilizer as it had a leak
but advised me jeep was working on a front end
modification that would result in a permanent fix
and a jk recall
