Default The Plan

G'Day all!

Ok, I want you all to pick some holes in this for me.

Have worked out what I am going to do with my JK to further improve it now that I can't justify the expense of the locker!

My theory is, that, if I am not to get a locker then I need to work out a way to get some more articulation without replacing everything again (as most Springs/Shocks etc etc are still new).

So what I plan to do is as follows:
Front
- 1/2 Inch Spring Spacer from Terraflex at the front (to level it, front is 1/4 Inch lower than the back)
- 2.5 Inch Terraflex Shock Extensions for the front (Shocks are new and there is sufficient travel in the springs to accomodate the extra flex)
- Upper Adjustable Control Arms to bring Castor back
- Extended Brake Lines for the Front

Rear
- 1/4 Inch Terraflex Spacer (to level the JK) with Spring Retainer (Spring will be retained back into the Seat at full droop, at the moment the spring is just loose at full extension)
- 2.5" Terraflex Shock Extensions for Rear Shocks
- Extended Rear Brake Lines

That combination, by my calculations will:
- Increase Droop
- Give a little more height- increase Ramp Over (when I belly out it's always on the Fuel Tank, just another 1/2 inch may get her over)
- Make it possible (or more likely) to keep all 4 wheels on the ground, eliminating the need for a Locker.

Including freight, everything can be had from the states for less than $500AUD giving me some $$ to spend on some Flare Extensions!

I just see it as better bang for my buck than a Locker!

others may correct me but we're only talking about 1/2 inch lift here. i'd say that for that none of the other stuff is necessary. for mine tassie, i'd go with the spacers if you want them and then still put in the locker. small lift like that won't do a lot, but a diff lock will give massive improvement in offroad performance. cheers

Yeah bang for buck, can't beat a manual locker and it's not a "hoonish" mod.

if you have a 3inch lift and arent getting articulation then it is probably your shocks restricting it i know you said they are new but look for a set of longer travel shocks and keep them for spares

other than that i still say go the locker
