I'm in the middle of ordering a clutch fan from Phil @ Ozadventure4x4 (vendor on here) and I bought the thermostat & Gasket from Jeep as Mopar parts should be used when it comes to parts as important as cooling...

Another way to check your clutch thermofan is to have the engine running with the bonnet up and rev the engine with the throttle cable and observe the fan, it should react to the revs. Also make sure you flush the radiator when replacing the coolant whilst you do the thermostat etc, that's what I'm going to be doing soon.

Try running your heater on full blast whilst the temperature gauge is running hot it will also help reduce the temp slightly.

Good luck!

when you replace a thermostat it's worthwhile putting it into boiling water to make sure it actually opens..... (I actually ended up with 3 thermostats and the cheapo one was they most accurate)

The other thing that kills you is blocked fins (internally blocked is terminal - new radiator required afaik) but externally blocked cause of mud is common and easily fixed. (remove radiator from Jeep - give it a good soak with degreaser/ct18 and gently hose the fins clean)

Also check your lower radiator hose, sometimes when they get old they can collapse when the water pump "sucks" on em....
