Default Steering CLUNK, TrackBar?

hey all

For a while i have had an ever so faint clunk when i turned the wheel left or right sharp, Eg round about or into a drive way.
Have not taken much notice of it,

But today it was louder so when i got home i had a look were the sound was coming from and when the wheel is turned left right sharp and fast the Track bar has a slight juggle in it and go's with the clunk,

So thinking the bush or bolt was ********ed, i pulled it out to have a look and nothing it seems fine?

The standard jeep bolt is a little sloppy in the diffs bracket and Track bars bolt tube in the bush but the head dose not slip around just the Track bar.

is this a common thing on jeeps???

I could probably fix it and make up a sleevie to fit around the bolts shank more comfortable and push into the bush's bolt tube.

I have an Adjustable pedders Track Bar

Sounds like I have the same thing as you, doesn't worry me that much but mine is only at the knocking stage, doesn't clunk yet.

Something clunks on mine when turning sharp left or right, but sounds like it's in the middle or the back, it's hard to locate and only does it when driving (tried rocking/pushing when parked).

It will load up on one side at a time, if you turn left it will clunk once and not make a noise until the next hardish right turn, then the same until the next left etc.

It gives me the $hits.

i think i have something similar to you willow mine seems to come from the middle or back of the car but is intermitant and cannot find it the st few time it happened i would get out and try and find it or even try to rock the car. it still does it from time to time but i have just come to the conclusion that it might just be a jeep thing if some one out there can tell me otherwise by all means

Yeh,

Sound like the same thing as mine, had it in the air yesterday arvo trying to locate what else it could be,
But the Track bar bolt seems to be the only thing with play in it??

Thinking about measuring and getting a thicker hi tensile bolt for it to make the play smaller to see if that makes a difference,

I was reading some yank forums and they blame it on a lose caliper, but have not checked this yet! might go have a play out side now and see what i can fined!
