I imported 4.10 from the states for our CRD manual, the dollar is good at the moment. I went through JT diff and gear. They were excellent.

Its a given that you will replace the ratios with your preferred tyre choice at some stage anyway. I have the 4.88's ready to go!

On MY08 models and onwards the engine is tuned to 410Nm for manual and to 460Nm for auto. I was talking about the torque available to a rear axle through a gearbox, say in 2H, like this:
Manual:
1st: 410*4.46*3.73(mine)=6820Nm
2nd: 410*2.61*3.73(mine)=3991Nm
etc
Auto:
1st: 460*3*3.73=5147Nm
2nd: 460*1.67*3.73=2865Nm
etc
Also manual has 2 more gears before 1:1 gear.
Honestly I don’t know how stronger the clutches and gears are in auto compared to manual. But the manual seems to have poor design of the clutch release (slave cylinder, lever and bearing) that tends to failures and premature wear of the clutch disk.

Nice find TJMichaela, a D30 4.10 ring & pinion set even made by Dana Spicer.
