I'd go four stroke if I was buying again, 2 strokes are generally getting phased out, and do not hold their resale.
I had a Seadoo XP DI, very small 2 seater. it was a great ski for wave jumping and general hooliganism, however very tippy, so it was not so user friendly, especially with a passenger, and it could tow a tube, but the tow mounts are very low, so not so effective.
A mate has a Seadoo RX DI, bigger 2 seater, more like 2.5, and can squeeze 3 on no real worries. Great all round ski for all of the above. It tows tubes and wake boards no worries, can jump waves pretty well, quite stable so very user friendly, has reverse, so just a really good all rounder.
If i was going to get another ski I would get a Seadoo RXP which is essentially a four stroke versrion of the RX DI.
There are plenty of traps out there in skis for new comers, so make sure you get any private sale checked out by a qualified ski shop, (or just buy through a dealer). Make sure you keep the maintainance up to it as well, the salt environment they live in is harsh!
