Can this be used to adjust the speedo when changing tire size or gearing?

not as far as i know mate, it just reads the limited information we allowed to access from the ecu, a few basic readouts, but nothing important and we can't acess the ecu and change settings. as far as i know it will probably be a few years yet before bosch let anyone into the ecu. so at present i think you would have to go back to the dealer. some earlier jeeps gave us limited access to the ecu but the new ones have us shut out totally......as far as i know. only way you can get in at this stage is with a starscan at a dealer.

Sory about the thread hijack. The dealer can reflash the speedo for 275/65/18 whic is close to stock anyways. I found that AEV have the ProCal which allows you to change the speedo, ESP settings and a few other things http://www.aev-conversions.com/products/procal_module/

As others have said...there is no speedo cable and all adjustments for tyre or ratio changes are done electronically in the ECM.

AEV is the cheapest option and has a few other useful additions, like light settings, steering wheel alignment, indicator flash settings...and is around the $200 mark.

There are other ones on the market that do allow for adjusments but most are tied into the engine tune flash modules. They adjust the engine tune settings but can also access other thingslike the AEV but they are all around the $700-$1500 mark.

If it can be done with cheap modules...Im sure the dealer can also do it with the Starscan module...its just whether they want to.

Matt.
