did you fit an online filter?
I'll see if I can find out the fuel pump part No.
The inline filter was put on by last owner inline under the passager side footwell chassis rail. I'm told that it's not a factory position for one. As the fuel line turns to go up to the engine bay there is a short bit of rubber fuel hose on the metal fuel line, this is where the filter is now.

I have to dash to the airport soon to collect someone & I'm terrified I'll do some damage if it remains "unoiled".
Don't worry it was just a theory as to what was causing the flat spot but it doesn't seem to hold water. Most people over oil K&N's, it shouldn't cause any major damage. You only need a light spray on the filter.

My 2006 tj has exactly the same problem.
Noticed after a long trip towing a trailer that there was black carbon around the exhaust pipe which would indicate to much fuel or not enough air.
Had pointed out the problem to the dealer who tuned it and told me it was running as it should.
Got 20lts/100k's on the trip at 100kph in 5th. If I went to 110 kph in 6th the fuel was down to 22/23lts/100k's.
No power at that speed either.
Was thinking of a turbo fit.
Cheers for the info.
