I've done it on a seriesIII landy .... I can only imagine what a nightmare of a job it would be to strip down a new vehicle like a JK with so many more components fitted to them.

Personally .... after all the work of stripping the landy down, sandblasting and dipping the chassis .... only to have all the brakes, radiator, mounting brackets and nuts, bolts and screws rust out anyway .... Its wasnt worth the time and expense.

Much better and cheaper just to buy an extra, old banger, for driving around in vehicle destroying salty places ....

My last Prado was; according to the shulbit that came with the car; had galvanised chassis and body. It also said that all the seams where the body is joined (folded) were double waxed during the bending process to prevent water and dirt from seating in the seams... That’s probably one of the reasons you pay $70,000 for a Prado and Only $40,000 for a Jeep.
You get what you pay for; it’s like a Holden/Ford compared to a BMW which has its whole monocot shell hot dipped including all panels before painting and assembly.
Allot of work to do if you want it done properly, not worth it.

Hi Yom,
When I say togs I mean board shorts and rash shirt, the picture you painted would not be nice. My wife would not like that in front yard. LOL
But back to the subject hand Cleaning every where does help as you need to get all the salt out but you also need to have the car dry out.
All my cars have been on beach every year and normally have chemical rust proofing which is why I went for the wet under body rust treatment Which is all the hidden internal and the stone guard external although that was not put on how I would have expected it to be.
But the stone guard looks better then factory under body finish.
WIll probable re do this myself.
But anything is better then nothing. Have always had a good run with previous vehicles even after 14 years of use (my last one).
Jeep----- well time will tell.
Nice in Black no bare metal
