Guys thanks for the replies- i think i will try a different thermostat and see how that goes. At the moment with the air-con on and sitting on 100km/hr im getting approx 105- around town its sitting about the same but the only way for me to get the temp down below 100 is to drive with both fans on. This is still ok but i`ve recently got a bigger boat and want to make sure it will handle the extra load.

Cooling mods to date:
Adrad radiator
new water pump
bonnet vents
external trans cooler/bypassed the radiator
zirgo fan
bypass air con fan to override switch


As you can imagine im getting abit ticked off that its still not operating below 100. Will try the thermostat and go from there- thanks again for the help- cheers

i just ended up hard wiring my main fan to come on with the ignition. went out on the weekend and it was HOT and it only go a bit hot about 105°C then i realised that the thermostat i had controlling the main fan was shot, so its hard wired now and going great guns .

Hey Yumpet-you`re running the 91 thermostat arnt you?

Your asking a bit to remember but i think so from memory, it was a long time ago i put it in!
