Default ACT trip 6/7 feb

Seeing as the last time anything was posted in here was over 7 months ago I thought I'd breath some life back into the ACT section by proposing a trip in the brindabellas or somewhere within the region.

I havnt been out wheeling around the ACT area yet but if anyone wants to come along and show me around I reckon it would be a good time. From what iv heard there is some pretty decent wheeling to be had around here??

HOLY CREPE!

I have been waiting for an ACT wheel for an age! I'm in, don't know the area at all, but happy to tag along.

Hey Guys,

Not to sure how familiar you are with the Brindabella Rangers but alot of the tracks have been closed by ACT Parks due to the new water catchment areas and forest regeneration. Mount Cooree last time I was up there was closed. You can do a day trip to Flea creek for a BBQ and swim, Brindabella through to Adaminaby, Lake Eucumbene and back through Cooma and back to Canberra. Depending on what sort of driving you are after trips in the Brindabella Rangers have become very limiting these days.

Or on the other hand you could drive through to Wee Jasper from Brindabella, jump on to Google Canberra nation Parks and you will get a feel of what is out there. Maybe a coast run could be another option as there are lot of places to drive down that way.

I would take you around myself but am working in SA until mid feb.
All that needs to be done is alittle exploring on the back tracks and a little local knowledge (which is half the fun i guess) and maybe a few new tracks can be found, the local club scene is very quiet as far as I know unless you join up with a few of the larger ones but then it can get to be a pain to get onto trips.....

Anyway hope this provided some insight and help for you or at the least gave you some idears.

Cheers guys good luck and have fun.

thanks jeepjimmy, we will have to sort out a trip for when you are back in the area so you can show us some of your known tracks.

it would be good if we could get a few ACT'ers to head out for a wheel a little more often.

Hey Guys Im up for it to..

I know of a good track that I am hoping to hit up shortly out in the brindies... There isnt too much available any more due to tracks being closed because of fire danger, water catchment etc..

But we can give this track a go then have a bbq and swimm down at flea creek if interested?
