Default Your thoughts on mounting driving lights on Aunger light bar

Hi All,
Would like your thoughts on mounting one of thes on the front of a GC? http://www.aunger.com.au/contents/en...d=39602.647222
It's a driving light bar made by "Aunger" & I was looking at it as an alternative while we all wait for ARB to make a steel bull bar for the 09 onwards Grand Cherokee.
I was in my local auto parts store on the weekend looking at this bar they had for sale at just under $60.00 and the young sales guy mentioned that fitting of a bar like this could void the warrany & indurance of the vehicel. Of course I asked why & he stated that it could alter the way the front airbags functioned. I immediately put it down & thought I would put that question out to the well informed masses.....

Hi, I had one of those on my previous fourbie. The main problem I found with it was the amount of flex it had through the mount.

For memory they attach to where your number plates go on to the bumper & if you're using a large light, the weight of the light, & as the bumper fascia isn't usually overly rigid the bar tends to flex. Having said that they are fairly inexpensive way of mounting lights. And contrary to what you were told, they have no effect on the deployment of the airbags.

Cheers

Chris,

Thanks for the reply on this. I thought it was a bit unusual also, that's why I posted the question. Just surprised it took this long to get a reply. Obviously not many Jeep GC owners have bothered fitting one of these.

Dont know what $ its worth but you can pick up proper nudge bars pretty cheap 2nd hand & that gives you good light mounts & proper recovery points too.

There around the $60.00 mark at my local auto parts shop. I had a look at nudge bars and they are upwards of $290.00 plus fitting & brackest so their not that cheap. What I am really waiting for is an ARB steel bar for the "MY09' onwards WH. At this stage they only make them for models upto 07 or 08. ECB have a beautiful allow bar but I had a Jeep alloy bar on my WJ & want to go steel this time.
Just thought it may be a not too expensive option while I wait for ARB to do their thiing...
