I had heard of places in the past that used to straighten axle housings, whilst still in the vehicle, try talking to some truck alaignment specialists, also perhaps that's the time to add some gussets to beef it up a bit then when Jeep supply your new one just sell it or do some more beefing up before fitting.

It is actually common to bend the rear axle on the JK sport or Rubi, actually is a few on this Forum who have done so

a Rear set of Superior axles or any aftermarket product, probably come in cheaper than the stock replacement units or about the same.

Update: I got a mate to drive the JK as I drove behind in his car and the rear wheels track as true as anything. There was absolutely no movement either from side to side nor up or down. This has me thinking that it isn't an axle. I also get no vibration at all when driving, which is what you would expect if I bent an axle. Furthermore it would have been impossible for me to bend an axle as I have done no rock crawling stuff, kerb jumping or anything of the sort - the last trip I did in it was the Otways on mild tracks only which was at Easter time!

The service manager phoned yesterday saying he is trying to source another axle for me prior to us going away next week. I suggested they have a look at it again for the above reasons and talk to the mechanic to find out his reasons why he thought the axle was bent, but no offer was made for me to come in again. At the end of the call yesterday he said he would call me today - but I didn't hear from him.

Yeah, most likely you have a warped or badly-seated rotor. You would know for sure just by driving it if the axle was bent.

Like it was suggested from a few of you, I went and got a second opinion. I got called into the mechanics and they had my car on the hoist and sure enough - I have a bent rear right axle!!!!
(The Jeep dealership were adamant that it was the left, but the right wheel was wobbling all over the place and the left was as true as anything!!!!!)

How it happened I have absolutely no idea. Anyway before I got my second opinion (Friday), I last heard from the dealer on Tuesday with him saying he thinks he had sourced an axle from another dealer and would call me the next day (Wednesday) to confirm it.

The next call I recieved from the dealer wasn't until Friday - and it was their Customer Service Manager asking if I was happy with the recent work done on my car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave her a quote being: "This customer is absolutely f.....g mega pissed off to the max!" She said she was sorry to hear about my dramas and would send an e-mail to the Service Manager (why not get off your arse and walk the 10 metres to the service dept and tell them how shit they are!!!).

After my rant I was expecting a call from the Service Manager (who was the one handling all this) and expecting an apology of why he hadn't called me on Wednesday as he promised and that it was now Friday - however the call never came and I ended up phoning them at 2pm to see what the story was with this so called axle. He said there wasn't one in the country and they couldn't get one for 4 weeks. Well F..K YOU and thanks for letting me know earlier!!!

Anyway, once I found this out I was straight on the phone and it is WOODERS TO THE RESCUE!!!!! Talk about an absolute legend. During him being on another call and getting another 5 calls while I was on the phone to him, he was brilliant in sourcing me an axle from the US and is pretty confident he will get it into Adelaide on Wednesday morning, my mechanic (who did the second opinion), will fit it for me Wed arvo and we will leave on the Thursday.

So, overall Adelaide City Chrysler Jeep have been absolutely useless and Wooders has been a legend and busted his nut in every way possible to still make our trip a reality!
