Default Hi-Ram Relay (?)

In the engine bay of my 97 TD XJ is what looks like an electrical relay with Hi-Ram written on it. It is screwed to the engine bay sidewall in the back right hand corner.

Anyone familiar with what it does? I've been trying to find it in the workshop manual with no success...

cheers, Andrew

It's not used for something that's not factory such as spotties?

A google search reveals a few hints - got any more info about it?

Handy to know.
Wait.
Isn't there one in the fuse/relay box?

There's prob a fuse for them in the fuse box (*too lazy to go look*), but the one in the engine bay is a relay - you can hear it work when you turn the ignition on and wait for the plugs to turn off after about 30 secs or so.

Yeah its for the glow plugs on the TDiesel, problem is the relay points will stick or burn together in time and then your glow plugs burn out, then vehicle is very difficult to start, happenen to me so I fitted a manual push to energise the glow plugs switch, no more burn outs.
Bosh Glow plugs are 1/3 the price of Chrysler/Jeep item and are simple to fit.
