nzdans, I think the use of mastic is prefered because it remains pliable and keeps the seal with movement where silicon can open up. Just like on a windscreen.

I think you'll find that a product like sikaflex would do the similar job as mastic and remain pliable. I know it's used in the caravan induxtry externally as it seals, can allow movement and bonds also.

Hi Guys, Had the airflow snorkel fitted to my WH petrol 5.7 V8 and coupled with a free flowing exhaust the combination definately adds some performance whilst also providing peace of mind for water crossings. Please note the petrol does have a different airbox to the diesel so there are some extra bits to deal with.

Cannot see the snorkel body from inside the CRD - only the top air entry bit which is high up.

Does not change the pillar blind spot vision one bit.
