Computer interference ? ESP ERM
Hi
Just another thought - do you have any worn or loose front end components or larger tyres or any lift?
I think it is possibly a result of a false triggering ESP ERM (Electronic Stability Program -- Electronic Roll Mitigation) - I am thinking that maybe you have something out of alignment or loose
I would begin with a search for something worn or loose in the front steering panhard / trackbar then I would check ball joints and the 3 bolts each side that hold the front C's to the axel and then the wheel bearings for excessive play!
If you have lifted your Jeep I would make sure that you have not affected the critical ratio between the long steering arm (I forget its name it's the one that connects from the pitman arm to the front wheel assembly) and the front track bar - especially if you have installed a cheap lift kit with a front trackbar mount extension,
you may find that the geometry is all $crewed up and everytime you turn the steering wheel or your jeep goes over a bump you get a false ERM trigger - which is actually the jeep trying to correct what it thinks is a potential roll over situation by alternating the application of the two front brakes which could explain why the steering wheel feels like it is being ripped out of you hands and being turned from side to side.
You could perform a simple test to determine if it is a false ERM trigger - just pull the fuses on the ESP ERM and then drive over the same ground that had earlier been a problem
I hope you can get it sorted soon
cheers Hunty
